I'm Jonathan, a curious designer with a love for enhancing digital experiences.
I have a strong passion for taking a deep dive into understanding user needs and experiences to brainstorm potential ways to improve usability. When I'm not designing, I enjoy playing volleyball, dancing, or listening to POP and R&B music!
Up until my undergraduate years in university, I only craved to understand ways to lead a positive, fulfilling life - which led to me studying psychology in high school to better understand myself and other people. This craving led to me joining UCSC's HCI Lab to study psychological theories of happiness and technology's application in fulfilling motivation needs such as autonomy, competence, and relatedness. Being amazed at the positive impact digital applications can have on people's wellbeing, I decided to pursue UX Design at the Tech4Good Lab and absolutely loved applying human-centered design and research to enhance people's digital experiences.
As a child, I was that student who asked the teacher "why?" in response to nearly every question or statement. "Why is the sky blue? Why can we see colors?" Although these questions often led to abstract conversations that didn't get me anywhere, I've always pursued ways to satisfy my curiosity.
Hi! Thank you for stopping by :)
I'm currently a graduate student at UT Austin pursuing a Masters degree in Information Studies with a focus on UX Design and Research.
My UX journey began with my undergraduate years at UC Santa Cruz where I led human-centered initiatives towards researching and designing webpage interfaces for hackathon organizations and HCI research projects.
I have a strong passion for taking a deep dive into understanding user needs and experiences to brainstorm potential ways to improve usability. I love creating order from chaos and designing with accessibility in mind.
