Internship Overview
Due to privacy reasons, I cannot share the bulk of my work for this project. Please feel free to reach out to me. Here are some brief notes about the work I did ✏️
What I worked on 💫
Redesigned menus to be more intuitive for users by organizing similar features in proximity to each other.
Improved visual clarity of the VR application by making UI component designs consistent and color-accessible through the creation of a design system.
Improved workflow management by aggregating existing designs into a user flow. Communication between team members and stakeholders became easier when referencing a specific page or feature.
Designed and conducted usability tests on end users (four physical therapists).
Presented usability test findings and actionable design insights to co-founders.
Made further design iterations based on usability test feedback to address common pain points and confusion.
Immersive Telehealth Platform
Key Takeaways
Questions are a must for effective collaboration 💭
Throughout my internship, I've noticed a gap in knowledge between myself and our supervisors in the fields of telehealth and physical therapy. To gain context and clarity, I repeatedly asked questions to help design for Immergo Lab's immersive telehealth platform.
Cross-disciplinary communication is key 🔑
There were several occasions where the UX Intern team had to explain UX-focused terms or ideas towards people of varying backgrounds. As a result, I practiced in communicating usability ideas to others in simple, comprehensible ways to anyone even if they don't have a background in UX.
Be encouraged to take initiatives 📢
It is vital to take active measures to make the most amount of impact with the minimal amount of investment. Throughout my experience at Immergo Labs, I've learned to take initiatives in identifying and presenting ideas to improve our workflow process and content organization to better meet our users' needs.
